Texas Longhorns star player has been suspended..

Texas CB Ishmael Ibrahim is placed on indefinite leave.

Texas Longhorns redshirt freshman cornerback Steve Sarkisian has been suspended indefinitely, a school spokesperson told KXAN News and Inside Texas.

“We’re aware of Ishmael Ibraheem’s situation,” a statement from Sarkisian read. “We have spoken with his family, and while we continue to keep an eye on the legal and university procedures, he has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities.”

Ibraheem was taken into custody by the UTPD on Monday, as reported by KXAN News. This is the third time in a few years that he has broken the law. The incident report was obtained by the San Antonio Express-News.

Ibraheem was suspended last year after he was accused of breaking Oklahoma’s revenge porn law, which carries a misdemeanor penalty. Additionally, Ibraheem was charged with carjacking and eluding arrest while attending Dallas Kimball High School, but those accusations were later dropped.

Ibraheem made an appearance last season against Rice before missing the final nine games due to injury. He also made an appearance in the season opener against Louisiana-Monroe, where he broke up a pass.

Ibraheem, a four-star prospect by most accounts, signed with Texas in the 2021 recruiting class. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, he was the No. 14 cornerback and the 200th best player in the country.

Texas wide receiver Agiye Hall’s suspension is indefinite following his arrest for mischief.

Following his arrest on Thursday for criminal mischief, Texas Longhorns wide receiver Agiye Hall has been placed on indefinite leave from the football program, as head coach Steve Sarkisian announced on Friday.

Anwar Richardson of Rivals.com provided the statement that Sarkisian released. “We’re aware of the situation involving Agiye Hall, have talked with his family, and have suspended him indefinitely from all team activities for conduct that is detrimental to our program,” the statement read.

Michael Casagrande of AL.com was able to obtain public booking information indicating that Hall was taken into custody on Thursday in Austin, Texas, on charges of criminal mischief with a potential value ranging from $100 to $750.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, the 19-year-old was a 4-star recruit out of Florida and the fifth-ranked wide receiver in the 2021 class. In April 2020, he pledged to play for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

During his freshman year at Alabama, Hall played in just three games and hauled in four passes for 72 yards. He was far down the depth chart, behind players such as Slade Bolden, Jameson Williams, and John Metchie III.

In a since-deleted tweet, Hall continued to question his playing time, writing, “Yea nah, calling it quits,” according to AL.com’s Mike Rodak.

Everything Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said after the spring game

In October, Nick Saban, head coach of the Crimson Tide, was questioned regarding Hall’s annoyances:

“Players still need to add value to themselves through their actions. I’ve mentioned it before, but there are players who are gifted; they just need to figure out how to use it and practice using it effectively. It is the player’s responsibility to show the coaches that they can be relied upon to perform as assigned during the game.

Because they’re so preoccupied with playing a lot, players who get frustrated sometimes react inappropriately in terms of their preparation and attention to what it takes to become a good player.

In April, Saban declared that Hall would serve an indefinite suspension for breaking team rules. The receiver informed reporters that he had previously been given the opportunity to rejoin the team when they asked him what he could do to do so.

On April 7, Hall made his move to Texas public. On April 9, Hall entered the transfer portal. Along with Isaiah Neyor and Tarique Milton, he was expected to contend for the No. 3 receiver position on the team, with Jordan Whittington and Xavier Worthy leading the pack.
