Klay Thompson of the Warriors says he will return from his Achilles injury against the Cavaliers.
The star player for the Golden State Warriors, Klay Thompson, will face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday in his official 2021–22 debut.
On his Instagram page, Thompson shared a clip from Space Jam in which Bill Murray appears to offer the Tune Squad his assistance, stating, “Maybe I could be of some assistance.”
“How I’m pulling up to chase tomorrow, Bill Murray is my spirit animal,” wrote Thompson. “I can’t wait to see everyone at Dub Nation! LET’S DO IT.

The guard missed the entire 2020–21 season as well as the beginning of this one due to a torn Achilles in November 2020. Since suffering an ACL tear during the NBA Finals in June 2019 and missing the entire 2019–20 season, he hasn’t participated in a competitive game.
This will be Thompson’s first opportunity to appear in court in approximately three months.
Before his injury, the 31-year-old was one of the best two-way players in the NBA, having been selected to five straight All-Star teams.
Thompson shot 42.3 percent from three-point range and averaged at least 20 points per game in each of the seasons from 2014 to 2019. Along with his excellent perimeter defense, he played a major role in the Warriors’ five-year run of consecutive NBA Finals appearances and three titles.
Golden State will benefit greatly from his return as it attempts to make the playoffs after missing out on them the previous two years.
As Stephen Curry attempts to win his third MVP title, the Warriors have already been one of the best teams in the NBA this season. Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins, the other members of the backcourt, have also flourished, playing well on both ends of the court.

It might enable Golden State to gradually progress Thompson as he recovers to his maximum potential.
The Warriors should be challenging to defeat this season if the seasoned player can resume his previous caliber of performance. Only the Phoenix Suns (30-8) who are currently defending their Western Conference title are better than their 29-9 record in the NBA.

The Warriors star shooter, Curry, is “making good progress” according to team doctors following his most recent tests. He has begun working out on the court, but the team will wait another week for him to get reevaluated.
Steph Curry has missed extended periods of time due to injury before. Due to a shoulder injury, he missed 11 games earlier in the season. The Warriors only prevailed in six of those games.
On Thursday, the Warriors will play again at Crypto Arena against the Los Angeles Lakers. After that, they’ll return home for a three-game homestand against the Timberwolves and Rockets at Chase Arena.
