Good news:Texas Longhorns welcome another fastest player…

Kennedy Lewis, WR, is suspended from the Longhorns in Texas football.
Before spring football practice began, the Texas football program received some unfavorable news regarding the temporary suspension of wide receiver Kennedy Lewis.

Kennedy Lewis, a prominent wide receiver and former three-star recruit, is reportedly facing a temporary suspension, which could negatively impact the depth of the Texas football team’s wide receiver corps during spring camp. This news is bad for the team because wide receiver is already a young position for head coach Tom Herman going into spring camp.

Due to a suspension from the previous season, wide receiver and former four-star recruit Joshua Moore is already absent from the Texas Longhorns football program. This many young skill position players missing from a critical set of spring drills on the Forty Acres is something Texas cannot afford.

The most recent information regarding Lewis’s temporary suspension by the Longhorns is unexpected and represents a significant setback for a player who showed some promise during the offseason last year. Lewis, who stands 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds, will have a difficult time moving up the depth chart as a redshirt freshman.

On February 22, Anwar Richardson was the first to reveal on his Twitter timeline that Lewis would be placed on temporary inactive status by the Longhorns for the duration of spring camp. It appears that he will rejoin the team in June, when summer workouts begin.

Lewis will now be unable to begin acclimating to the new offensive schemes implemented by offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich, who was hired recently. Additionally, he won’t be able to gain an advantage over Andre Coleman, the recently promoted wide receivers coach.

Kennedy Lewis, UTSA, Wide Receiver

Lewis was signed while Herman’s co-wide receivers coaches, Drew Mehringer and Corby Meekins, were still employed by Texas. After Meekins was demoted and eventually left Texas entirely, Mehringer was fired outright.

Lewis produced in a single game during his true freshman year. With one catch, he gained 37 yards. Because players must play in more than four games to lose a year of eligibility, the NCAA allowed him to take a redshirt.

Lewis was a member of the 2019 recruiting class and a former three-star wide receiver signee. He was ranked as the No. 83 wide receiver and the No. 650 2019 high school prospect in the country. Lewis was born and raised in Melissa, Texas, and graduated from Melissa High School. Initially, he turned down offers from the Baylor Bears, Florida Gators, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and Washington State Cougars in favor of committing to the Longhorns.

This is a significant setback for the Longhorns as a team and for the player personally as he is one of their more substantial and promising wideouts in 2020. This autumn, Lewis was a contender for additional playing time at Z-wide receiver.
