Announcement: Nottingham Forest favorite player is leaving…
There are six players who Nottingham Forest may lose during the summer transfer window.
This summer, Steve Cooper will have to make some important decisions about the current members of his Nottingham Forest team.
As he gets his Nottingham Forest team ready for their second Premier League season, it seems improbable that Steve Cooper will face another hectic summer of trading.
However, the former Swansea City manager still needs to make some important decisions regarding a few players in his squad who are reportedly drawing interest from other teams. Despite several leaving after their loan periods ended, Cooper currently has a substantial number of senior professionals in his ranks due to the volume of activity during the previous summer transfer window and the January trading period. That doesn’t mean, though, that they won’t be thinking of other possibilities.
We’ve looked at the Forest players who might be leaving before the new season starts, with the summer transfer window officially under way.
The former Blackpool winger joined Forest from the Championship club just under a year ago. The 24-year-old, who returned to Blackpool for the second half of last season after an unsuccessful loan at Greek team Olympiakos, has yet to don the renowned red shirt.
Now that he is back with Forest, Bowler may be able to leave the City Ground permanently this summer as he approaches the last year of his current contract.
After joining Forest from Bordeaux last summer, the 56-time South Korea international, who also spent time on loan at Olympiakos, has not yet made an appearance for the team. Hwang played the second half of the season for FC Seoul in his native country after underwhelming in Greece, where he finished with four goals and two assists in 17 games.
Similar to Bowler, he didn’t do well during either loan stint, and there are rumblings that he might leave the team this summer.
Just under 18 months ago, the former Chelsea academy defender, who made an impression for the Ligue 1 team, joined Forest from French club Dijon.
The 22-year-old had a successful loan spell at Coventry City after making just one appearance for Forest in the last month of their successful push for promotion into the Premier League. The Sky Blues made 32 appearances across all competitions as they advanced to the play-off final before a loss to Luton Town ended hopes of returning to the top division.
Nevertheless, a number of teams expressed interest in signing Panzo due to his performance, and it has been reported that Scottish powerhouse Rangers attempted in vain to sign him to a long-term contract at Ibrox. It is reported that talks are taking place between the two clubs, and an agreement might be reached in the upcoming days and weeks.
Dennis, who spent £20 million to join Forest from Watford last summer, hasn’t had much of an impact at the City Ground. In 27 appearances across all competitions, he has only scored two goals and provided three assists.
Remarkably, Steve Cooper’s starting eleven featured only nine of those appearances as the Nigerian international failed to make an impression on the Forest manager. Dennis is arguably one of the few Forest players who could command a significant transfer fee, even with his difficult season. The Athletic has reported that Dennis is “likely” to leave the City Ground this summer, though rumors of a move to the Saudi Arabia Pro League have been ruled out.
The incredibly seasoned defender played in just 14 games across all competitions the previous season, and his only Premier League game was a 2-2 home draw against Brentford in November.
Cook’s impact on the field was minimal, despite the fact that his experience in the locker room will have been invaluable. As he approaches the last year of his two-year contract, he may be permitted to leave the team this summer.
