Du’Vonta Lampkin, a former defensive tackle for Oklahoma, was shot and found dead on Thursday. His age was twenty-five.
While he was waiting to move into his new apartment, Lampkin reportedly resided in an Airbnb apartment, according to the Dallas Morning News. His friends couldn’t get through to him on the phone, so they went looking for him around ten p.m. CT. His wallet, phone, and backpack were not found at the scene, according to the police.
From 2015 to 2017, Lampkin played for the Sooners for three seasons. During the course of 15 games, he recorded 27 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and one sack. On Friday afternoon, Oklahoma Football confirmed the information.
Lampkin did not play in a regular-season game after trying out for the Ravens and signing with the Titans as an undrafted free agent following his 2018 NFL draft entry. In 2019, he made his last appearance in the National Arena League with the Massachusetts Pirates.
