All of Kirby Smart’s remarks while the Bulldogs continue to get ready for Tennessee Tech

Athens — Although Georgia’s head coach Kirby Smart wasn’t happy with his team’s Labor Day practice, he was pleased with his team’s Tuesday effort.

The Bulldogs’ next game is against Tennessee Tech on Saturday.

A transcript of every word stated by the Georgia coach is provided below. Tennessee Tech will host Georgia for a 2 p.m. ET kickoff.

Yesterday wasn’t the best. We did nothing with the players, and I detest it when routines are changed. On Sunday, the players had nothing to do. Monday was a non-school day. Since they don’t have courses on Monday, they usually spend all day Sunday lying around, which makes Labor Day Mondays not so wonderful in the years I’ve been here. They didn’t have a good day when they came over here afterwards. It was a lot better today. Perhaps the weather had any bearing on anything, in my opinion. Today was a tad colder. They are in high spirits. We had a successful drill.

I’m not familiar with playing time. I believe that with the guys that have begun and participated, we can refute that. We have as many freshmen who play and as many All-Americans as any other team in the nation, so I’m not sure how successful that is, but it might be utilized. I’m not sure. I’m curious to know how 13 stacks up against previous years. Of course, that would depend on the kind of game we were playing. Because of the score and disparity from the previous year, we most likely had more than 13 plays.

We probably didn’t have many against Clemson a few years back. Though I don’t know many others, I do know one who did. You know, every year is different. It concerns their growth. I feel like a lot of freshman in the nation are currently preoccupied with the question, “Am I going to play?” Will I be playing this week? Will I be traveling? How am I acting? Was the choice I made the right one? Since all they have to consider is the option of where I could go, you will ultimately succeed if you just stay where you are and improve.
