Minnesota Vikings set to sign a super star from..

Before Week 1, the Vikings are reportedly trying to sign Justin Jefferson to a record-breaking extension.
At some point soon, Jefferson is going to reset the market.

The Minnesota Vikings star, Justin Jefferson, is the best wide receiver in the NFL and will soon be compensated accordingly. Jefferson’s contract may become official in the upcoming weeks, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history.

The Vikings are working to get Jefferson to sign his new extension before the 2023 regular season starts, according to SI.com. Although his contract is technically for two more years, don’t count on the Vikings being satisfied with that. One of their main goals, according to general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, is to extend Jefferson. This was stated in February.

Adofo-Mensah told ESPN, “I don’t want to be the Vikings general manager without that guy on our team.” Thus, it has top priority. Given all of the other decisions we need to make, we obviously need to make sure we complete it in the quickest possible order.”

Signing a second contract is “a dream of mine,” Jefferson told SI.com. Since I was seven years old, this has been a dream.” Additionally, he declared, “I’m not going to allow that contract stuff to get in the way of my team.” We have to be focused on getting to the Super Bowl.”

Last season, Jefferson caught a league-leading 128 passes for a league-leading 1,809 yards and eight touchdowns, which earned him Offensive Player of the Year. With those receptions and receiving yards, he broke Randy Moss’ record for the most receiving yards in a player’s first three seasons in NFL history with 4,825. His numbers also set records for the Vikings franchise. Jefferson, who accounted for the largest portion of a team’s receiving yards (37.5%) in the previous season, helped Minnesota’s offense.

Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins is currently the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL, earning an average of $30 million annually, according to AAV.

The Vikings are back with Anthony Barr.

The Vikings practice squad has added the linebacker who Minnesota selected in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the team announced on Tuesday.

Barr made an impact both on and off the field during his first eight seasons in Minnesota.

He had 495 tackles (league stats), 39 tackles for loss, 44 quarterback hits, 17.5 sacks, five interceptions, 31 passes defensed, eight forced fumbles, and seven fumble recoveries in his 98 games with the Vikings. Between 2015 and 2018, Barr was selected to the Pro Bowl four times in a row.

His most well-known forced fumble and recovery led to the first fumble-return overtime score in franchise history—a 27-yard touchdown in overtime against Tampa Bay.

The native of California founded the Raise the Barr foundation, invested in dreams, and supported families with only one parent.

Barr was chosen as the team’s Ed Block Courage Award winner in 2021 and was named the Vikings Community Man of the Year.

The Vikings said a tearful goodbye to Barr in 2022, pushing him up against the salary cap.

He ultimately signed a contract with the Dallas Cowboys, where he appeared in 14 games (10 starts). He recorded 58 tackles, two tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, one sack, one pass defensed, and two fumble recoveries in his one and only season there.
