Goodnews:Oklahoma Sooners sign a super star from…
|Which athletes joined the 2023 recruiting class of the Oklahoma Sooners?
On the first day of the early signing period, the Oklahoma Sooners had an amazing day. The Sooners signed every player who was committed as of Wednesday, in contrast to a few other universities.
Even though they ultimately failed to sign a few of their top targets, the Sooners have assembled a very strong class for the 2023 cycle.
Five-star players in the lead Fifteen four- or five-star players were signed by Oklahoma by Jackson Arnold and Adepoju Adebawore. Nine blue-chip players were added as a result of their exceptional play on defense.
The area where they had the biggest talent infusion was the defensive backfield. The Sooners added five four-star players in Erik McCarty and Daeh McCullough, as well as Jasiah Wagoner, Makari Vickers, Erik McCarty, and Jacobe Johnson. McCarty is a player who will be a major asset to Oklahoma’s secondary in the future.
Brent Venables said during the Sooners’ early signing period press conference that the team was not done adding talent. This might be done via the high school recruiting trail or the transfer portal. That would elevate a recruiting class that is already excellent.
The Oklahoma Sooners have signed the following players for the 2023 cycle.
After National Signing Day, Oklahoma Sooners football is moving forward and has a bright future.
Despite being the less-heralded of the two national signing days, today proved to be significant for the Oklahoma Sooners program as they go through a transitional period.
The day started with the addition of Tulsa’s Booker T. Washington, a four-star safety named Gentry Williams, who had committed to Oklahoma since mid-October. Williams and his family wanted to get a feel for the new staff after Lincoln Riley’s untimely departure before signing an NLI. It’s reasonable to assume that all of his inquiries were addressed.
Eric Bailey of The Tulsa World spoke with the Williams family, who provided some excellent information about the procedure and the choice. Riley and his USC team attempted to move him to the West, but the Williamses had absolutely no interest in that idea.
Following this, pass rusher R Mason Thomas, defensive back Jamarrien Burt, defensive lineman Gracen Halton, and pass rusher Kevonte Henry all announced their commitments to OU, propelling the 2022 class to the top of the final rankings according to Rivals, 247, and On3. In light of the situation, this is a very remarkable accomplishment for Brent Venables & Co.
As recently as this week, Thomas—who was committed to Iowa State—was still debating whether to stay with the Cyclones. He claims to have spoken with Miguel Chavis, the new DE coach, on Monday, though, as reported by On3.
