It should come as a surprise to no one that the Nebraska football defense is once again one of the best in the country. The Huskers are 7th in the country in points per game allowed, 14th in yards per game, 9th in rushing yards allowed per game, and hasn’t allowed a rushing touchdown yet this season (they only team in the country.)

The Huskers’ passing defense is also very solid, though it’s been hampered a bit by Tommi Hill being injured the last few games. In his absence, another Cornhusker has stepped up and shown off he’s ready to put his up and down career at USC behind him

Ceyair Wright doing what he’s doing, and Tommi Hill being quite solid before he went down means that according to PFF, the Nebraska football team currently has two of the Top 10 cornerbacks in the entire conference.

In fact, Wright is currently the 4th ranked corner in the Big Ten with an 81 overall rating. That puts him behind only Iowa’s Jermari Harris, Penn State’s A.J. Harris, and Rutgers’ Eric Rogers.

The Huskers are going to need both of those DBs when they take on an Indiana offense that has routinely scored more than 30 points in a game.

The good news there is that Hill was almost ready to return for the game against Rutgers and with the bye week this Saturday, it feels like there’s a decent chance to get Wright and Hill on the same field for the Nebraska football team. And that could be a shutdown kind of game.

There’s been one constant through the Deion Sanders and Matt Rhule era of Colorado and Nebraska football. The two fanbases really, really don’t like each other.

Perhaps even more than the Huskers and Buffaloes dislike each other, the people rooting for the programs have some severe problems with one another. Twitter fights over the silliest stuff has been prevalent. Even after the Huskers won the game this year. However, it looks like there’s one thing the two groups can bond over. Their dislike of the Kansas State Wildcats.
