“The adventure is not finished. I have the good fortune to still be eligible for a sixth year. I have the incredible chance to continue honing my craft and getting ready for the NFL, all while earning a master’s degree. Next year, as we continue to strengthen the culture of success, cooperation, and brotherhood that we have worked so hard to establish, I am excited to continue my journey as a Wolverine.
Six important Michigan football players have announced that they will return in 2023.
The Wolverines return a number of starters from their consecutive Big Ten championship teams.
ANN ARBOR, MI Six important Michigan football players have declared their return for the 2023 campaign in the last week.
The Wolverines are coming off one of the greatest seasons in the history of the team—they defeated Ohio State, won 13 games for the first time, and won the Big Ten title for the second time in a row.
With Jim Harbaugh’s future plans once again unknown, many of the team’s players who are eligible for the draft must make tough choices. They ended their college careers on a high note and joined the NFL, and no one could blame them for that.
However, there is much more consideration involved in these decisions than simply answering the question, “Do I feel ready to be a pro?” between Name, Image, and Likeness dollars and a draft class that is still bloated by players who gained an extra year of eligibility in 2020.
A few athletes from Michigan have already filed for the draft. Mike Morris and Mazi Smith, the defensive linemen, as well as tight end Luke Schoonmaker and defensive backs D.J. Turner and Gemon Green, are moving on.
The All-American running back Blake Corum made the announcement of his comeback on the Rich Eisen Show last Monday, January 9.
It is impossible to exaggerate the significance of Corum’s return. Before getting hurt against Illinois, he had a chance to win the Heisman Trophy and finished the season with 1,463 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns.
