Denver Broncos superstar announces he’s return to…
|Broncos announce Brandon Johnson’s return from injured reserve.Denver might soon have access to an additional offensive weapon.
The Broncos announced on Wednesday that wide receiver Brandon Johnson would be returning from injured reserve.
Johnson took part in Wednesday’s media viewing session and started the 21-day period that needs to pass before he is added to the 53-man roster of the Broncos.
Johnson could be eligible to play in the Broncos’ Week 13 matchup with the Houston Texans if he is activated by the team as early as this week. He is still listed as injured at this time.
For the duration of the season, Johnson will return to injured reserve if Denver decides not to activate him before the end of his 21-day practice window.
Throughout the season, each team is allowed to activate eight players from injured reserve. So far this season, only two players from Denver have been activated: tight end Greg Dulcich and safety P.J. Locke.
Prior to the Broncos’ victory over the Chiefs in Week 8, Johnson sustained an injury. He caught eight passes for 122 yards and three touchdowns in seven games before the injury.
Superstar quarterback Peyton Manning is reportedly set to sign with the Denver Broncos.
Following what appeared to be a lengthy period of thought and a cross-country tour, former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has finally decided. According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, the free agent has agreed to a deal with the Denver Broncos and will replace Tim Tebow as the team’s starting signal-caller:
In their pursuit of Manning, the Broncos defeated the Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, and Tennessee Titans, among other elite opponents. Early in the process, Denver appeared to be nothing more than a dark horse, but Manning got along well with John Elway, the executive vice president of football operations for the Broncos.
Despite having a meager 8-8 record, Denver managed to win the AFC West and make it to the playoffs last season. Then, with Tebow throwing for 316 yards and the game-winning touchdown in overtime, the Broncos stunned the football world by defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in the opening round of the playoffs.
The Broncos are reportedly going to try to trade Tebow, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Last season, Tebow made just over 45 percent of his throws, and it was becoming more and more clear that Elway wasn’t sure he was the solution. Elway and the Broncos pursued Manning hard as a result, and they were eventually successful in getting him to sign.
Denver can be far better than a.500 club this season and maybe even beyond with Manning back in the fold. The offense has a ton of great pieces in addition to an improving defense that includes Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil as pass rushers.
Running back Willis McGahee was a terrific presence in the backfield last season, and wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker have both demonstrated the ability to be game-changers.
Pro Bowl left tackle Ryan Clady, who will be tasked with the crucial duty of guarding Manning’s blind side as he attempts to recover from multiple neck surgeries, is arguably the most significant addition.
How long Manning can sustain this injury and whether he can get back to his previous level of play are still unknown. It should be an exciting year in Denver if he is even remotely the quarterback he once was.
