Sad news for Green Bay Packers:He will not play again…

This season, Bakhtiari of the Packers will not play again as he gets ready for his fifth knee surgery.

(AP) — GREEN BAY, WI The season is ended for offensive tackle David Bakhtiari of the Green Bay Packers. He hopes not to have an NFL career.

In an attempt to clarify his experiences since suffering a devastating left knee injury during a practice on December 31, 2020, and to outline the steps he needs to take to resume his career, Bakhtiari spent nearly forty minutes on Friday speaking with reporters in the team’s Lambeau Field locker room. He revealed that he is scheduled to have his fifth knee surgery.

Bakhtiari, who last played in the Packers’ season-opening victory against Chicago on September 10, stated, “We know what we need to do for me to be back.” Though it’s not ideal, that’s currently pretty much my game plan. I have to follow this path now that we have a plan in place.

This new path, which started with a recent arthroscopic procedure, will next involve an operation by orthopedic surgeon Brian J. Cole of Chicago to address a cartilage problem.

The femoral condyles, the ball-shaped ends of the femur at the knee joint, are the source of his problem. Although Bakhtiari’s anterior cruciate ligament and the meniscus damage he sustained during his initial injury were repaired during the Jan. 7, 2021, procedure,

The problem was that they were unable to determine if the abnormality in his knee would cause him problems in the future. It turned out that during his recovery from the original injury, Bakhtiari further damaged the cartilage at the end of his femur, which caused inflammation and a buildup of fluid in his knee.

According to Bakhtiari, “where it rubs in my knee, it’s basically like sandpaper; it’s just not smooth, which is creating a lot of fluid.” “It’s just my defect,” I said.

“Yeah, do (this surgery),” he continued, “would have loved it if on January 7, 2021, it had been decided.” Since it is evidently what it is. However, nobody was aware. You wish not to take on more than you

With one year left on his deal, Bakhtiari, who turned 32 last week, may choose to leave the Packers after this season. He has a $40.5 million salary cap for 2024, so if he were to return, it would have to be under a different contract.

“I detest Dave’s current circumstance. Head coach Matt LaFleur expressed sympathy for the player. The Packers (2-2) take on the Las Vegas Raiders (1-3) at Allegiant Stadium on Monday night. “He has been struggling relentlessly to try and return.” Unfortunately, he suffered a serious injury, and I believe those effects are still being felt. That was known to me at the time.

“He’s made every attempt. He desires to be outside and engage in ball play. He has exhausted every possibility to return, but his knee is not reacting properly.
