Cole Holcomb of the Steelers was released from the hospital and will miss the season due to a knee injury.
Cole Holcomb, a linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, suffered a horrific knee injury on Thursday night against the Tennessee Titans. He had to be carted off the field and was out of the game, so it was a scary moment at Acrisure Stadium.
Following a precautionary visit, Holcomb was discharged from the hospital on Friday, as reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. The linebacker for the Steelers “needs surgery” and “is out for the season,” Pelissero continued. It is anticipated that he will fully recover.
The 27-year-old Holcomb was hurt late in the first quarter after appearing to collide with teammate Keanu Neal near his left knee while pursuing Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

As soon as Holcomb felt pain in his knee, his teammates surrounded him to offer support while he was helped onto the cart.
Holcomb had two tackles against Tennessee in the first quarter before he was dismissed from the game. Along with two forced fumbles and 33 total tackles this season, he has established himself as a reliable member of the Steelers’ formidable defensive line.
Holcomb played his first four seasons of professional ball with the Washington Commanders in Washington, D.C., before agreeing to a three-year, $18 million contract this past offseason.
Going forward, the Steelers will have to rely more on veteran inside linebackers Kwon Alexander and Elandon Roberts in Holcomb’s absence.

Inside linebacker Elandon Roberts (groin) and guard Isaac Seumalo (shoulder) were the Steelers’ two most injured players going into the week. Center Mason Cole (neck) and rookie Keeanu Benton (oblique) were mentioned on their first estimated practice report.
