Unfortunate:Ohio State Buckeyes losess the match with Michigan Wolverines

The Ohio State Buckeyes lose “The Game” for the third straight year as they fall to the Michigan Wolverines.
The Ohio State Buckeyes’ three-year losing streak against their storied rivals will have to wait another 365 days for fans to get another chance.

For the third consecutive year, the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes lost to the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines on Saturday, falling to them by a final score of 30–24.

With the loss, the Buckeyes have now lost to the Wolverines for three years running, going all the way back to a 42-27 setback on November 27, 2021, in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

It goes without saying that Ohio State cherishes its yearly matchup with Michigan more than any other regular season matchup. The players, coaches, and supporters of the Scarlet and Gray all have a strong desire to defeat the Wolverines.

On Saturday, the Wolverines outran the Buckeyes, gaining 156 yards on the ground to the opponents’ 107 yards. Throughout the previous three seasons, Michigan’s ground attack has consistently outperformed Ohio State’s.

The Wolverines collectively gained 297 rushing yards in 2021 while giving up 64 to the Buckeyes. Last season, Michigan surpassed 250 yards on the ground as well, finishing with 252 yards compared to Ohio State’s 143.

Less total yards were gained by the Buckeyes than in any of their previous two defeats by the Wolverines. Compared to 2022’s 492 yards and 2021’s 458 yards, Ohio State’s 378 yards on Saturday were less.

Ohio State’s future is uncertain because they will not be competing for a Big Ten Championship for the third consecutive year and will probably no longer be in the running for a College Football Playoff berth.

It’s safe to say that Ohio State’s players, supporters, and media will be watching Tuesday’s CFP rankings show, which will decide Ohio State’s postseason.
