Good news:Oklahoma Sooners has finally sign him..

Savion Byrd, an offensive lineman for the Sooners, will use the transfer portal.

On the first day of transfer season, the Oklahoma Sooners have now lost their second offensive lineman to the portal. Savin Byrd has joined former four-star offensive lineman Nate Anderson in the transfer portal, following Anderson’s initial declaration of intent.

While Byrd started the 2023 season as a starter at left guard, Anderson saw little action during his tenure with the Sooners. He had an injury that prevented him from playing in several games.

Troy Everett was the Sooners’ guard of choice during their guard experimentation until they settled on Cayden Green, who had a breakthrough game against Texas.

Byrd made his Cheez-It Bowl debut against Florida State and looked promising. After having a successful offseason, he was awarded the left guard position. After starting the season’s first three games, he took McKade Mettauer’s starting spot against Kansas.

After playing 345 snaps over three seasons as a former four-star prospect in the 2021 signing class, Byrd is expected to start somewhere in the transfer portal. In the state of Texas, he ranked as the No. 13 player and the No. 4 interior offensive lineman.

After attending UCF, where he started 12 games as a true freshman in 2019, Gabriel transferred to Oklahoma. In that inaugural season, he passed for 3,653 yards, 29 touchdowns, and seven interceptions; in 2020, he passed for 3,570 yards, 32 touchdowns, and four interceptions.

After missing the majority of the 2021 season due to an injury that ended the season, he transferred to Oklahoma for 2022. There, he was reunited with Jeff Lebby, the offensive coordinator (the two had worked together at UCF in 2019), and he threw for 2,168 yards, 25 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Lebby was just appointed Mississippi State’s head coach.

Tracking OU football players who are headed to the NFL and are in the transfer portal

A NORMAN Dec. 5 marked the official opening of the NCAA transfer portal, and some players have already begun considering their options.

OU (6-6, 3-6 Big 12) will play Florida State in the Cheez-It Bowl on December 29, but there is a chance that players will leave in the next few days. Not only have some players bid farewell to Norman through the portal, but they have also declared for the 2023 NFL Draft.

Theo Wease, a redshirt junior wide receiver, committed to Missouri on December 11 after announcing on November 29 that he planned to use the transfer portal.

There were highs and lows in the former five-star prospect’s OU career. He missed the 2021 season due to injury, following career-highs of 37 receptions, 530 receiving yards, and four touchdowns in 2020.

On December 1, Wease then used the transfer portal, but he later went back to OU.

During his three seasons with the Sooners, Wease caught 64 passes for 1,044 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Jordan Mukes, a sophomore defensive back, declared on November 29 that he intended to use the transfer portal.

In 2020, the Midwest City native and former star player at Choctaw High School made a commitment to the Sooners. He rejected offers from Oklahoma State, Arkansas, and Kansas State in favor of OU.

Mukes made four tackles in 12 games during the previous campaign. This season, he did not play in any games for the Sooners.
