Good news:Arkansas Razorbacks star player is back…

With Landon Jackson back in Arkansas, the Hogs portal should succeed.

Earlier in the week, defensive end for Arkansas Landon Jackson was selected as a second-team All-SEC player.

In light of this, his announcement that he would rejoin the Razorbacks in Fayetteville for a third season in 2024 was about as good a personnel announcement as Arkansas could have made.

Jackson is still the team’s best NFL prospect. He led the team in tackles for loss with 6 1/2 sacks and was first-team all-SEC in tackles for loss upon his return to Arkansas. Arkansas not only gains his ability to scare rival backfields for an additional season, but the Razorbacks also benefit from his early announcement.

Jackson’s return indicates that he supports Arkansas’s 2024 efforts in the midst of transfer portal season. Players who plan to play college football for just one or two more years frequently fill the portal. The Razorbacks could only rise in their rankings if they also think Jackson will return.

On the other hand, Arkansas has undoubtedly lost a number of players—including a star—through the portal, albeit only a few of them were consistent contributors. Jackson’s announcement thus gave the roster a much-needed boost.

In its worst season of the four seasons Sam Pittman has coached, Arkansas finished 4-8 in the fall.

Isaiah Elohim joins Razorback Basketball

The men’s basketball program at Arkansas has signed Isaiah Elohim, a 4-star recruit who was ranked as high as 34th in the country, according to Razorback head coach Eric Musselman.
