CLEVELAND (AP) — Surgery is necessary for Nick Chubb’s horrific left knee injury, which is a terrible blow for the star running back for the Cleveland Browns who will now need to endure another difficult rehabilitation in order to play again.
Chubb suffered the injury that ended his season during the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Monday night game.
Chubb, a six-year veteran of four Pro Bowls, was injured in the second quarter when Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick tackled him low during a carry. The same knee that Chubb injured at Georgia in 2015 and had rebuilt gave way under the impact.
Chubb’s season is over, as confirmed by coach Kevin Stefanski. Regarding the extent of the damage and the anticipated date of Chubb’s surgery, he gave no details.
