On March 7, 2018, Gotsis was taken into custody in Atlanta on charges of sexually assaulting a female student at Georgia Tech in 2013. Since then, the case has been looked into.

Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard Jr. issued a statement on Wednesday stating, “After careful and thorough investigation, The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office has decided not to proceed with the case against Mr. Adam Gotsis.” “While my office acknowledges the gravity and importance of these investigations, the evidence does not support taking further action in this case.”

Gotsis, who was selected by the Broncos in the second round of the 2016 draft, turned himself in to Fulton County authorities on March 7 and was later freed upon securing a $50,000 bond. Gotsis had participated in the team’s offseason program and training camp without receiving any official charges.

“I’m just relieved everything’s been taken care of,” Gotsis stated. “I have faith in the law, in the Lord, in my loved ones, and in friends. Fantastic support from my friends, family, and fellow Broncos. I’m just relieved that it’s finished and I can now concentrate on football.”

“You just have faith that everything will work out; you don’t really know what’s going on,” continued Gotsis. There is nowhere else I would rather be than out here with the guys running around.

Gotsis claimed that coach Vance Joseph told him after team meetings. Gotsis claimed that it has been bothering him.

“It’s more difficult when you’re by yourself and actually outside the building,” Gotsis remarked. “Everything in the building seems to revolve around football when you’re inside.” It’s more prevalent when you’re alone yourself and reflecting on it. The 6-foot-4, 287-pound Gotsis was accused by police of raping a 25-year-old woman on March 9, 2013. The woman claimed to have been raped on February 1st, 2018.
