Cincinnati Bengals injury report:He will not play again..

Sources affirm that the Bengals’ injury to Joe Burrow did not violate any rules.Cincinnati — Before quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a season-ending injury in Week 11, the Bengals did not break the NFL’s injury policy, league sources told ESPN on Saturday.

Prior to the game against the Baltimore Ravens on November 16, the NFL was looking into why Burrow was not listed on the injury report. Burrow was seen wearing a compression sleeve on his right hand as he got off the team plane in Baltimore, according to a social media post made by the team the day before the game. Later, the post was removed.

During the Baltimore game, Burrow tore a ligament in his right wrist. He claimed to have felt a pop when he hit running back Joe Mixon for a touchdown, just one play after defensive end Jaydeveon Clowney of the Ravens had hit quarterback Jake Burrow.

Bengals coach Zac Taylor and players claimed following the game that they had no prior knowledge of Burrow’s wrist injury before he tore it.

Taylor stated that Burrow’s acute injury was brought on by Clowney’s hit when he made the announcement on November 17 that Burrow would miss the remainder of the season. Burrow and Taylor both stated that the compression sleeve had nothing to do with the injury.

Burrow, however, was evidently in pain when he completed a touchdown pass to running back Joe Mixon during Cincinnati’s touchdown drive in the second quarter. The team announced the following day that he would miss the remainder of the season after replacing him on the following drive.

“The league reviewed all medical records, studied practice video from the week preceding the club’s Week 10 game against the Houston Texans and the Week 11 game against Baltimore, interviewed relevant medical personnel and Burrow himself before arriving at its conclusion,” the NFL stated in a message sent to Fox Digital at the time.

Given the rise in fantasy sports and the legalization of gambling, the league has begun to take injury reports more seriously in recent years. According to reports, the NFL cautioned teams about accurately reporting injuries during the spring meetings.

When the season began in September, the Bengals gave Burrow a massive five-year, $275 million contract, with $219.5 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history.

Cincinnati has split its two games without Burrow, winning in overtime this past Monday night in Jacksonville but losing to their AFC North rival Pittsburgh Steelers in their first game without him.

Jake Browning has completed 75.6 percent of his passes for 649 yards, three touchdowns, and a pick since taking over. He completed 32-for-37 passes for 354 yards against the Jags.
