Braylon Staley, a four-star wide receiver, has committed to Tennessee.
On Friday, Tennessee added another four-star prospect when wide receiver Braylon Staley committed. The native of Aiken, South Carolina, selected the Volunteers over multiple other teams, including North Carolina and Clemson.
Staley weighs 180 pounds and stands 6-0. According to 247Sports, he is the 120th-ranked player in the class of 2024. In the state of South Carolina, Staley holds the second position among players.
June was a significant month for Staley as he paid formal visits to all of his top choices. On June 16th, he informed Tennessee of his decision, providing the Volunteers with a major player at a crucial position.
From the outside, Staley looks a lot like another former South Carolina four-star prospect. He reminds me of Jalin Hyatt, who just won a Biletnikoff Award last season, in terms of size and speed. As a potential slot receiver for the Tennessee offense, Staley seems like a great fit.
The 2024 class’s first receiver for Tennessee is this explosive athlete and track star. But with four-star Amari Jefferson, five-star Mike Matthews, and five-star Ryan Wingo in the Vols’ lineup, plans are in place to add a few more.
Tennessee now has their fifteenth prospect in the class of 2024 with Staley’s commitment. According to 247Sports, the Volunteers are now ranked 12th overall in the class.

On Monday night, a prominent player for the Tennessee Vols declared that he will be going back to Rocky Top in 2024.
Gerald Mincey, an offensive lineman for the Vols who transferred from Florida to Tennessee before the 2022 season, hinted at his return for his redshirt senior year in 2024 via a tweet regarding a new NIL contract.
This season, Mincey made six starts for the Vols while participating in all 12 games (all at right tackle).
The native of Florida struggled with injuries toward the end of the campaign, which cut into his playing time.
With Mincey back, the Vols have one less major question mark at tackle. Tennessee now knows that John Campbell, a transfer from Miami, will start at left tackle and Mincey will start at right tackle in 2024.
Center Cooper Mays and right guard Javontez Spraggins, who both have one more year of eligibility remaining and are likely to return, are still to make decisions that Tennessee will need to know. The Vols’ left guard position will remain uncertain even with the return of Mays and Spraggins.
