Anouncement: Golden State Warriors star player is leaving…

Draymond Green: Following his ejection for striking Jusuf Nurkic, the NBA suspends the Golden State Warriors star indefinitely.

Draymond Green, a forward for the Golden State Warriors, will serve his second NBA suspension after striking Jusuf Nurkic in the face. The NBA said that Green’s “repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts” had influenced their decision.

The NBA has suspended Draymond Green, a star player for the Golden State Warriors, indefinitely for hitting center Jusuf Nurkic of the Phoenix Suns in the face during Tuesday’s game.

After he was ejected for the 18th time in his NBA career—more than any other player—the league on Wednesday announced an unprecedented indefinite penalty that will start right away.

This is Green’s second suspension of the current campaign; in November, the 33-year-old was given a five-game suspension for headlocking Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert during an on-court altercation.

“He will be required to meet certain league and team conditions before he returns to play,” according to the league.

The NBA stated that “this outcome takes into account Green’s repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts” .

According to a Wednesday report from ESPN, Green, Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr., and Green’s agent Rich Paul were scheduled to meet on Thursday to begin talking about a course of counseling and support for Green’s future.

Early in the third quarter, Green and Nurkic were squabbling for position on the court when they became tangled. After seemingly losing his footing a little bit, the Golden State forward turned and gave Nurkic a hard slap to the face.

The Warriors fell short against the Suns, 119-116, without their four-time All-Star, Green, on the court for the remainder of the contest.

Nurkic went down right away, but he eventually got back up and continued playing. After reviewing the play, the referees called a Flagrant 2 foul on Green, which carries an automatic ejection.

Nurkic remarked, “That had nothing to do with basketball.” “I’m just out there trying to play basketball.”

During his post-game press conference, Green apologized and said he didn’t mean to hit the Phoenix Suns center.

In addition, Green missed Game Five of the 2016 NBA Finals after flagrantly fouling Cleveland’s LeBron James in the previous game. Green was named the NBA defensive player of the year for 2016–17.

Kevin Durant, a former teammate of Green’s who currently plays for the Suns, responded to the suspension’s announcement on Wednesday.

Yes, it was crazy to witness. That (Jusuf) Nurk(ic) is okay gives me relief. I had never seen anything like that during an NBA game on a basketball court. “I hope Draymond Green receives the assistance he requires,” the two-time NBA champion remarked.

“Incident after incident has been occurring. I know Draymond, and that’s not how he’s been at all—you know, not since I was around him and the league began. Hopefully, he receives the support he requires, returns to the court, and moves past everything.

After a 10-13 start to the season, Green’s Warriors, with whom he has won four NBA titles since being drafted in 2012, are currently outside of the Western Conference playoff spots.
