After a month away, Bengals quarterback Burrow is back for practice.
Playing evasive with the media on Tuesday, the head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals stated that he had no idea when star quarterback Joe Burrow would be making his practice comeback after suffering a calf strain more than a month prior. However, it turned out that Burrow’s comeback would occur Wednesday afternoon rather than just some time in the future.
After spending thirty-four days away from his teammates, Burrow returned, and perhaps most encouragingly, he did so without wearing any kind of wrap on his injured right calf. Cincinnati supporters can now exhale a little easier.
On July 27, just as the Bengals were kicking off training camp for the 2023 NFL season, Burrow was carted off the field. Taylor stated at the time that he anticipated that Burrow, the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, would miss several weeks of action.
Burrow’s involvement in Bengals preseason games has been minimal in the past. He was nearing the end of his ACL reconstruction two years prior, when he helped Cincinnati win their first Super Bowl in more than 30 years. A year ago, he was recuperating.
