Announcement: Missouri Tigers star player is leaving….

Mizzou’s QB Laible and LB Wilson declare their intention to transfer.

Missouri had at least one player declare their intention to use the transfer portal for the third day in a row.

On social media on Wednesday, quarterback Dylan Laible and linebacker Dameon Wilson declared their intention to leave Mizzou. Max Whisner, a tight end, and guard EJ Ndoma-Ogar both declared their intention to transfer on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

This season, Wilson, a redshirt sophomore with two years left on his eligibility, appeared in six games for the Tigers. Wilson, a former Grover, North Carolina, four-star recruit, only managed two tackles in his little playing time, even though starting linebackers Chad Bailey and Ty’Ron Hopper were sidelined. Late in the season, Triston Newson and Chuck Hicks established themselves as the starting backup linebackers.

Wilson’s transfer coincides with MU’s impending losses of Hopper to the NFL Draft and Bailey to eligibility, which will leave the Tigers needing to make room. Along with junior Will Norris and freshman Brayshawn Littlejohn, Hicks and Newson are expected to return.

Brian Huff and Nicholas Rodriguez, two four-star linebackers from the 2024 recruiting class, are also coming to Mizzou. The Tigers will have a chance to add depth on Monday when the transfer portal officially opens.

Laible, a junior who transferred in from Hutchinson Community College this past spring, did not play this season. He has two years of eligibility left.

Mizzou football will have another quarterback battle. Here's who could win the job

The Missouri players will be monitored by the Columbia Daily Tribune through the portal on this page:

Quarterback Gabarri Johnson

According to an article from PowerMizzou on Friday, December 15, freshmen quarterback Gabarri Johnson of the Mizzou football team has logged into the transfer portal.

Tacoma, Washington’s Johnson, a four-star prospect, did not play for the Tigers during his rookie campaign. According to 247Sports, he was the No. 22 quarterback in the Class of 2023.

DJ Wesolak, defensive end

DJ Wesolak, a former four-star prospect, declared on Thursday that he would use the transfer portal.

Although he saw little action in his two years with the Tigers, the Boonville, Missouri, product was a major grab for Eli Drinkwitz’s staff on early signing day in the 2022 cycle. He saw action as a reserve in the 2022 season and did not play in the 2023 campaign.

When Wesolak was being recruited, he received numerous Power Five offers. Although he chose to remain in the state for his high school education, it appears that he will be leaving the Tigers after three seasons of eligibility.

Dameon Wilson, the quarterback

Wilson declared his intention to use the transfer portal on Wednesday morning. The Grover, North Carolina, sophomore made six appearances in the 2023 season, tallying two tackles.

With two years of eligibility remaining, the linebacker found it difficult to get playing time behind Ty’Ron Hopper. In 12 games in 2022, Wilson made 16 total tackles, forced a fumble recovery against Florida, and recorded a touchdown.

offensive lineman EJ N’Doma-Ogar

N’Doma-Ogar became the first Missouri player to reveal his transfer intentions when he revealed his intentions on Monday via X, formerly known as Twitter.

On the depth chart for the 2023 season, the backup offensive lineman was positioned behind right guard Cam’Ron Johnson. This year, during the Tigers’ 10-2 regular season, he appeared in four games.

Dameon Wilson, Missouri, Linebacker

N’Doma-Ogar played for Missouri for two seasons, but he was often sidelined by injuries. Before the 2021 season, he moved from Oklahoma to Missouri.

Max Whisner, defender

Whisner, a product of Lee’s Summit, declared his intention to transfer on Tuesday. Whisner, who was once rated as one of the top-15 prospects in Missouri, spent just two seasons in Columbia as a Tigers player. In 2023, he played just once, on special teams versus Memphis.

The tight end, who spent most of the season on Missouri’s unofficial depth chart but saw little playing time, still has three seasons left to be eligible.
