Good news: Cincinnati Bengals signed anothere star player to assist….

Logan Wilson of the Bengals hopes his new deal will help the team keep its best players as they try to win a Super Bowl.

Players on the Cincinnati Bengals are prepared to forego pay raises in order to support the team’s Super Bowl aspirations this season. In order for Cincinnati to make the championship run they envision in the future, linebacker Logan Wilson understands how important it is to keep the stars in the city.

This offseason, Wilson was qualified for a rookie contract extension and ultimately agreed to a four-year deal worth up to $37.25 million. The fourth-year player thinks his contract will help the Bengals afford to sign big names like Wilson and wide receiver Tee Higgins, who together were the team’s top three draft selections in 2020.

One day after agreeing to a new contract, Wilson told ESPN, “I still think that this contract allows them to get those things done with guys, and hopefully we’re able to keep them long-term as well.”

Wilson claims that everyone is encouraging, which he knows is uncommon in this league, while other players—including Higgins—wait for their contracts.

Wilson declared, “We are all cheering each other on.” That’s also uncommon because occasionally, guys are just out to get what they want. I also wanted to be a part of it because of the exceptional team spirit we possess.”

When Wilson was available for selection in 2020, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor had positive feelings about the linebacker. Taylor is happy that he was able to acquire Wilson and that he has since succeeded.

“He’s one of those draft experiences that I have, where we really crossed our fingers for every single pick that came off the board, hoping and praying that he’d still be available,” Taylor stated. “And fortunately, he was.”

Wilson described being a part of a significant draft class that contributed to the turnaround of a struggling Bengals team as both “rewarding” and “humbling”.

For the past two seasons, the 27-year-old has led the team in tackles. He recorded a career-high 123 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one interception, and one forced fumble in his last campaign. He has 256 combined tackles in his career during the regular season, along with seven interceptions, eleven pass deflections, and two forced fumbles.

He has started all seven of his postseason games and participated in six of them. During the postseason, he has recorded 62 total tackles, one forced fumble, one interception, and two quarterback hits.

He started both seasons and helped guide the team to consecutive AFC North titles.

Wilson is not the only player who accepted a trade that they believed would benefit the group. Joe Mixon, a running back, decided to forego a $3 million salary increase in order to support the team’s championship aspirations, citing his ability to see “the bigger picture.”

According to Caesars Sportsbook, the Bengals have the fifth-best odds in the league at +1000 to win it all. Their chances of winning the conference are +500, and their chances of winning the division are +160.
