Why now:Texas Longhorns fastest player was suspended for….

Texas wide receiver Agiye Hall’s suspension is indefinite following his arrest for mischief.

Following his arrest on Thursday for criminal mischief, Texas Longhorns wide receiver Agiye Hall has been placed on indefinite leave from the football program, as head coach Steve Sarkisian announced on Friday.

Anwar Richardson of Rivals.com provided the statement that Sarkisian released. “We’re aware of the situation involving Agiye Hall, have talked with his family, and have suspended him indefinitely from all team activities for conduct that is detrimental to our program,” the statement read.

Michael Casagrande of AL.com was able to obtain public booking information indicating that Hall was taken into custody on Thursday in Austin, Texas, on charges of criminal mischief with a potential value ranging from $100 to $750.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, the 19-year-old was a 4-star recruit out of Florida and the fifth-ranked wide receiver in the 2021 class. In April 2020, he pledged to play for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

During his freshman year at Alabama, Hall played in just three games and hauled in four passes for 72 yards. He was far down the depth chart, behind players such as Slade Bolden, Jameson Williams, and John Metchie III.

In a since-deleted tweet, Hall continued to question his playing time, writing, “Yea nah, calling it quits,” according to AL.com’s Mike Rodak.

In October, Nick Saban, head coach of the Crimson Tide, was questioned regarding Hall’s annoyances:

In April, Saban declared that Hall would serve an indefinite suspension for breaking team rules. The receiver informed reporters that he had previously been given the opportunity to rejoin the team when they asked him what he could do to do so.

On April 7, Hall made his move to Texas public. On April 9, Hall entered the transfer portal. Along with Isaiah Neyor and Tarique Milton, he was expected to contend for the No. 3 receiver position on the team, with Jordan Whittington and Xavier Worthy leading the pack.

Freshman Jaylon Guilbeau of the Longhorns Removed from Team Practice and Suspended
At the moment, the highly anticipated rookie does not take part in team activities.

Jaylon Guilbeau, a freshman cornerback for Texas, was one of the more impressive recruits for the Longhorns this spring. He got off to a quick start, competing for playing time right away.

But now that the Port Arthur native isn’t practicing with the team and has been suspended for breaking team rules, Guilbeau’s progress has reversed.

On Tuesday, head coach Steve Sarkisian announced the suspension.

Guilbeau has now joined Ishmael Ibraheem, another rookie defensive back who isn’t practicing with the team right now.

According to Brown’s report, both players remain on the team.

Guilbeau, the Longhorns’ first 2022 recruit, later withdrew from the program on July 22, making a commitment to TCU and head coach Gary Patterson.

Guilbeau, the 23rd commit of the 2022 class, returned to Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns, though Patterson had moved to Texas.

Guilbeau had risen to the position of one of the best defensive back recruits in the nation prior to reopening his recruitment in July. SI All-American ranked him as the No. 14 overall corner in the 2022 class.

After he first withdrew his commitment, Texas added defensive backs Terrance Brooks of Little Elm, Texas, and Austin Jordan of Ryan (Denton, Texas) to help make up for the loss.

Ryan Watts and D’Shawn Jamison continue to be the starters at both corner positions, despite the fact that Guilbeau’s absence does present a depth issue.
