Announcement: Georgia Bulldog Star Player Is Leaving….

Football DB for Georgia Julian Humphrey logs onto the transfer website

Many were taken aback when Georgia football defensive back Julian Humphrey revealed he would use his final three years of eligibility to enter the transfer portal. Humphrey implied in a tweet earlier this week that he would not be leaving Georgia, which is what caused the surprise.

In nine games for the Bulldogs, redshirt freshman Humphrey recorded 11 tackles and one pass breakup. He started to contend with cornerback Kamari Lassiter for the starting position as the season was coming to an end. He was, however, out for the remainder of the season due to an upper-body injury sustained against Ole Miss.

In 2024, Humphrey was expected to see a lot of playing time after Kamari Lassiter left for the NFL. In 2024, returners Daylen Everette and Daniel Harris, as well as true freshman Ellis Robinson IV, will need to step up if Humphrey is not available for the Bulldogs.

Star tight end Brock Bowers of UGA football formally declares for the 2024 NFL Draft

The career of Georgia football tight end Brock Bowers, a Bulldog, is officially over as he has officially declared for the 2024 NFL draft.

With two national titles, two Mackey Awards, and numerous UGA records, Bowers’ career will not be soon forgotten.

The junior became the third Bulldog in history to be selected three times to the first team of the All-American team in 2023. After achieving that, Bowers became a legendary player, sharing the distinction of being the all-time leader in UGA rush yards (5,259 yards) and sacks (36) with David Pollack.

The Mackey Award is given to the best tight end in the country, and Bowers is the only player in college football history to have won it twice.

In his rookie year of 2021, the Napa, California, native set records for Georgia tight end touchdowns (13) receiving yards (882), and single-season receptions (56). His 13 touchdown receptions also set a single-season record for pass catchers at UGA.

In 2022, Bowers broke his own receiving records as a tight end, amassing 63 receptions for 942 yards.

Despite being limited in some games and missing two others due to injury in 2023, Bowers finished the season with 56 receptions for 714 yards and seven touchdowns overall. He was unable to participate in UGA’s Orange Bowl victory over Florida State due to his injury.

Bowers is regarded by many as a top-10 choice. The dates of the 2024 NFL draft are set for April 25–27.

Florida football recruiting: Georgia flips former Gators 4-star DB

At least according to the 2023 roster, the Georgia football season of 2023 has ended with the team’s 27–24 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide. With the defeat, there will inevitably be declarations for the NFL Draft, upcoming entries into the NCAA Transfer Portal, and roster movement that’s probably not seen this early in the Bulldogs’ season.

Logan Johnson, a wide receiver for the Bulldogs, is the most recent player to sign up for the portal, continuing the trend of roster movement. Prior to choosing to walk on at Georgia, Johnson, a composite 3-star recruit out of Prince Avenue Christian, attracted G5 interest during his recruitment.

Johnson, a 2021 signing class member for the Bulldogs, was Brock Vandagriff’s high school teammate. A few weeks ago, Vandagriff—a former 5-star himself—also entered his name into the portal and declared his intention to transfer to Kentucky.

This is a live update of the roster changes as they occur, as players will be announcing their intentions in the next few days and weeks.
