Sad news:why West Coast Eagles suspended a star player for…

In Round 8, suspension leaves the Eagles in dire straits and struggling to assemble a team.

In addition to losing two players before Round 8, West Coast may find it difficult to field a team if more injuries occur this week.

Following a 108-point defeat to Carlton, Rhett Bazzo’s concussion, and Sam Petrevski’s accepted one-game suspension, Seton will push Adam Simpson even further into the reserve ranks this coming weekend.

After Petrevski-Seton tackled young Blue Alex Cincotta in a dangerous way, the incident was deemed to be careless conduct with medium impact and high contact, resulting in a ban.

In the WAFL last round, just five Eagles who were on the AFL roster were used by the club as reserves.

Prior to Round 7, the club’s AFL injury list included 17 players, including well-known players Luke Shuey, Jeremy McGovern, Nic Naitanui, Liam Ryan, and others.

Shannon Hurn also passed a fitness test last week to be ready for the home game against Carlton, but Dom Sheed (throat) looks to be the only player who could make a comeback.
