Good news for Alabama Crimson Tide: He is back….

In addition to adding two important defensive players via the transfer portal—TX A&M defensive lineman LT Overton and USC cornerback Domani Jackson—Alabama signed a top class on Early Signing Day.

Jackson committed to Alabama on Thursday night after being spotted at the team’s practice earlier in the day, and Overton traveled to California with the team for the Rose Bowl (despite the fact that he will not be able to play in the game).

Malachi Moore, a defensive back for Alabama now, stated that he hosted Jackson during his recruiting visit to Alabama, so he is acquainted with the USC defensive back. Jackson was Bryce Young’s high school teammate at Mater Dei, and Alabama was very interested in recruiting him.

Moore gave Jackson some advice even though he claimed not to have had time to catch up with Jackson during practice.

Moore took part in Senior Day in November, but due to the COVID waiver, he is still eligible to play for another year and may play again with Jackson the following season. Dallas Turner, a linebacker for Alabama, recalls Jackson from his high school days. He also spent a lot of time watching film on Overton while researching Texas A&M’s success with a pass rush in the SEC.

Turner described Overton as “very physical, very pass rush [able].” “A large frame as well. He seems capable of playing at the level that the University of Alabama plays at.”

Nick Saban of Alabama claims the Crimson Tide is “deserving” of a spot in the College Football Playoffs.

The SEC championship game victory by No. 8 Alabama has presented the College Football Playoff committee with some difficult choices, though it may not be enough.

The College Football Committee was infuriated when the Crimson Tide upset No. 1 Georgia in the SEC championship game on Saturday. Georgia had won 29 straight games, including back-to-back national titles.

Since the four-team format started, the SEC champion has qualified for the College Football Playoffs each season, but this year it’s still unclear.

No. 4 FSU will win on Saturday and become the Power 5 champion, while No. 7 Texas won the Big 12 on Saturday. Given that Georgia has won 29 of its previous 30 games, the Bulldogs are still very much in the conversation.

Following his team’s victory on Saturday, Alabama head coach Nick Saban was direct.

“The SEC was won by us. We defeated the nation’s top team. So, I suppose that definitely played a big part in it if we had to do something to pass the eye test,” Saban stated following the game.

The fact that Alabama lost to the Longhorns earlier in the season does hurt. Saban claims that the victory on Saturday should still motivate them.

“We’ve changed as a team since our matchup with Texas. When we played South Florida, we were a different team,” Saban stated. Therefore, we shouldn’t be viewed as that team at this time, in my opinion.

“I think people should look at the whole body of work in terms of what the team was able to accomplish and what they were able to do, and I think this team is one of the four best teams and one of the teams that’s deserving to be in the playoff.”
