It was assumed that Harris would use the transfer portal prior to the Orange Bowl. The week of the bowl game, head coach Kirby Smart then disclosed information, saying, “Just because a player has posted something about going into the portal, doesn’t mean they have.” To access the portal, there is a procedure that needs to be followed. Harris is not present there.
Regarding Humphrey, there were discussions that he might decide to use the portal, as is the case with many players at this time of year. However, based on his tweet—which Harris also posted following the bowl game—it appears that Humphrey will remain in Athens.
Humphrey played significant snaps as a cornerback during the season, which made him a vital member of the Bulldogs defense. Later in the season, he would sustain an injury that would keep him out of action, including for the Orange Bowl. The Bulldogs will be happy to have him back for another season at Georgia, though, as he flashed when his number was called.
