Good News:Atlanta Falcons sign a talented player from.

A defensive lineman from the practice squad is added by the Falcons to the 53-man roster.

LaCale London, a defensive lineman, has been added by the Atlanta Falcons to their 53-man roster, the team announced on Tuesday.

London had spent the entire season with the Falcons practice squad. He essentially merits the promotion by earning consecutive opportunities to demonstrate his abilities. In Weeks 6 and 7, Atlanta utilized a standard elevation on London.

In the Falcons’ loss to the Washington Commanders, London participated in 10 (20%) defensive snaps and recorded a tackle. Later, in the Falcons’ victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, London participated in 32 (44%) defensive snaps, recording three tackles and a fumble recovery. In the second game, he was also on the field for two special team snaps.

London, a 26-year-old Peoria, Illinois resident, is 6-foot-3 and 297 pounds. He attended Western Illinois for his college career before becoming an undrafted free agent in 2020.

London made one appearance in a 2021 game after initially signing with the Chicago Bears. He didn’t take any statistics.

The Falcons made a matching move by cutting defensive lineman Eli Ankou.

In the Falcons’ Week 5 victory over the Houston Texans, Ankou played nine (16%) defensive snaps and recorded one tackle but no more.

After being an undrafted free agent out of UCLA, the 6-foot-3, 325-pound native of Ottawa, Ontario, has been in the NFL since 2017. Along with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and Tennessee Titans, the Falcons were his sixth team. Ankou has recorded 44 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 34 games.

The Falcons play the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. (CBS) as they continue their road trip in Week 8.

Twelve of the names—those with a single asterisk—are already known to the Falcons because, at the conclusion of the 2023 season, they were members of Atlanta’s practice squad. Wesley, denoted by two asterisks, was listed as an injured reserve member of the practice squad.

After being waived by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in August 2023, Previlon became a free agent. He has never witnessed an NFL game in person.

Mack had played in the CFL in 2023 and was also a free agent. He was waived by the San Francisco 49ers in August 2022, ending his last NFL career. He played in 11 games and recorded seven receptions for 91 yards with the New York Giants in 2020, the only season he ever saw live action.

Burns was released from the practice squad of the Chicago Bears. His resume contains no game statistics.
