RB Giovani Bernard, formerly of the Bengals, announced his retirement.

Giovani Bernard, a veteran running back for the Cincinnati Bengals, declared his retirement on Twitter on Friday.

Bernard was a member of the Bengals for eight years, during which he amassed 33 touchdowns and 6,564 yards from scrimmage.

The 37th overall choice in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft was selected by the Bengals.

Bernard spent two years as a free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after joining them after leaving Cincinnati.
