Nfl report Good news for Tennessee Volunteers: He is back..

2024 five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton postponed his scheduled official visit to Oklahoma this weekend in favor of an unofficial visit to Tennessee, according to Josh Newberg of On3.

Later this autumn, Seaton intends to make an official visit to Tennessee, according to On3 (who also described his previous travels).

Seaton, a 6-foot-5, 287-pound player from Washington, DC, is rated as the top interior offensive lineman in the country and the 36th best player overall in the 2024 recruiting class according to 247Sports’ aggregate rankings.

There will be fierce competition for Seaton recruits. Ohio State, Alabama, Colorado, and a few other schools are in the running for the prized five-star offensive lineman.

But Tennessee is obviously winning this conflict. Additionally, a victory over South Carolina on Saturday night in front of a boisterous Neyland Stadium crowd would give the Vols an advantage in the race for Seaton.

Tennessee could have a thrilling weekend this coming weekend. But unless the Vols defeat the Gamecocks on Saturday night, there won’t be much excitement.

For the Tennessee Vols football program, it was a terrible day. Apart from the announcement that the season has been postponed, there have been some really concerning events affecting individual players, which we need to discuss.

The removal of a prominent player following an arrest is the first item in our morning update on Rocky Top. Although this firing looks to have been the proper choice, it represents a serious blow to UT’s depth chart. Beyond that, though, there’s also a big story with another predicted starter disclosing he underwent surgery.

Just those two tales demonstrate how difficult the day was for the football team. Finally, we’ll share some positive news about the track and field program and the athletic department as a whole. However, we must begin with the football-related news.

This offseason, there has been one arrest of a defensive lineman for the Tennessee Vols football team. Rising fifth-year senior Emmit Gooden was taken into custody on a criminal charge subsequent to the February arrest of Darel Middleton. Gooden’s program participation has been terminated due to the arrest. This season, he was expected to play a significant role as a defensive tackle.

Austin Pope, a rising senior tight end for Tennessee football in his fifth year, disclosed his back surgery on his Twitter page on Thursday. Pope stated that an MRI on Monday showed that he has a herniated disc in his back. Despite Dominick Wood-Anderson’s injury, Pope, who finished as the second-string tight end the previous season, is expected to be the primary starter this year.

The Tennessee Vols women’s and men’s track programs were honored for their academic achievements on Thursday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Members of the All-Academic teams received both names.
