The former mascot of the Georgia Bulldogs, “Que,” also referred to as “UGA X,” has passed away.

The 10-year-old Georgia Bulldogs mascot “Que,” also known as “UGA X,” passed away this morning. From 2015 to 2022, Que represented the Bulldogs as their mascot, witnessing them soar to unprecedented heights and win two national titles.

The previous University of Georgia bulldog mascot, Uga X, has passed away. He was ten years old.

According to a statement from UGA Athletics, the cherished dog, affectionately known as “Que,” passed away “peacefully in his sleep” on Tuesday morning. Uga X, who was born on May 27, 2013, started attending the university at the age of two on November 21, 2015, at the Georgia-Georgia Southern football game, during a collaring ceremony.

Georgia had a 91–18 football record when he left the team, had appeared in seven New Year’s Six bowls, won two SEC championships, and won two consecutive national championships. After the 2022 season, he retired, earning the title of “the most decorated of all the Bulldog mascots”.

UGA Athletics added, “He will always be remembered as a Damn Good Dawg,” to their post on X, formerly known as Twitter. The University of Georgia’s account likewise posted the announcement, echoing the same sentiments with the post “A DGD.”

“Que leaves behind a historic legacy and will forever be in the hearts of the entire Dawg Nation,” Georgia Governor Brian Kemp posted on X. Peace be with a DGD!”

The dog was recognized for his service by the Georgia Football X account, which also shared a picture of him with the message, “Thank you, Que, Uga X.” After his father retired, Uga XI, the son of Uga X, was named the official mascot of the squad.

The 1-year-old, popularly known as Boom, started his regular season in September after taking over his new duty ahead of the Bulldogs’ 2023 G-Day game in April, according to the university.

The bulldog mascot custom was started in 1956 when Sonny and Cecelia Seiler’s dog, Uga I, showed up to a game. The UGA line has been cared maintained by the family ever since.
