JUST IN:Nottingham Forest key player have been banned from training..

Joe Worrall, the club captain, has been excluded from first team training at Nottingham Forest.

The City Ground only offered the 26-year-old defender a new contract in September, and he has since been instructed to train on a different field than the rest of Steve Cooper’s first team.

Worrall and his teammate Scott McKenna, who has also seen limited action this season, have actually been told to report to training at a different time than their senior teammates.

Worrall and McKenna were fired for an undisclosed cause, but insiders told The Mail that it had nothing to do with “any behavioural issues or rows.”

Both players are reportedly free to change their Premier League uniforms when the January transfer market opens.

Worrall is by far the Forest player with the longest tenure, having made just six Premier League games this season after being instrumental in their promotion-winning campaign the previous year.

Since his early 2011 arrival, he has played in almost 200 matches across all competitions for the club.

As previously stated, the defender, who was born in Nottingham, pledged his allegiance to Forest earlier this year after inking a long-term contract in 2020.Scott McKenna Nottingham Forest to Celtic transfer 'not' happening
He wrote himself a two-year contract extension.

Worrall declared at the time, “I’m over the moon and just so pleased to extend my time with the club.”

All you have to do is look forward, and things appear to be going pretty well. Everyone is aware of how important it is to us to continue moving forward as a club and as a team.

“The owner has consistently demonstrated that he is forging the Forest family and forging a genuine identity for the football team—not just within the team, but also in the league and internationally. We wish to reclaim that power.

This most recent incident happened just one day after Nottingham Forest lost to Fulham at Craven Cottage in a humiliating 5-0 loss.

Their dismal form has cast doubt on Steve Cooper’s future, but the 43-year-old anticipates leading the team on Saturday when they go to Wolves.

Cooper stated on Thursday, “I have not spoken to him (Evangelos Marinakis).” “I had a phone conversation about the game with Miltos Marinakis, Evangelos’ son; we talked exclusively about the match.”

“I saw Ross (Wilson, chief football officer),” Cooper continued. I haven’t heard from anyone else, though. We are prepared to work for the day.
