Good news:Philadelphia Eagles announce superstar return..
|State of the 2023 Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts and Co. seem ready to avoid Super Bowl hangover Eagles supporters worldwide and those who think you should just let the teams play in the last minutes of the Super Bowl…
The Eagles were only minutes away from winning their second Super Bowl in club history, but they came up short. If you’re picking up on what I’m putting down, it’s kind of a recurring theme when it comes to Philadelphia sports these days, but let’s not lose sight of the fact that this team looks better than it has in, well, forever.
The Eagles include a talented young coach, an emerging quarterback, and a general manager who seems to make smart decisions almost every other day. There’s enough to be happy about.
The Eagles made their Super Bowl comeback after winning the NFC and the Lombardi Trophy five years earlier. And the league MVP award went to Jalen Hurts. Is that correct?Wait, that was quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who had led Philadelphia to a 10-point lead in the first two quarters of Super Bowl LVII.
The final blow was James Bradberry’s defensive penalty on third-and-8 with less than two minutes remaining, which allowed Kansas City to run down the clock before booting a game-winning field goal. Bradberry himself acknowledged his guilt, but the penalty would go on to be the most hotly debated topic in Philadelphia until Doc Rivers somehow managed to blow a 3-2 series lead for the 76ers in the NBA playoffs. Don’t worry, Philly fans: Things are looking good on the gridiron once again in 2023.
Jalen is Injured. You don’t need to act as though, like me, you’ve been a part of the Jaleen hype train since the beginning. However, I can appreciate the motivation behind Hurts’ attempt to silence his skeptics. (Now that they’re all doubting Justin Fields.) He recently signed a large extension. With the exception of certain naysayers, no one questions Jalen anymore. and 49ers supporters.
Remarkably, the 24-year-old fourth-year player still has room to develop into a quarterback. He’s not a completed item. Not only that, but he just finished a season as the Offensive Player of the Year! Whoa, that was Justin Jefferson after all. People, wake up. (Honestly, I think Hurts would have been the obvious choice for OPOY if he hadn’t missed a couple games near the end of the regular season. I genuinely do.)
