With a heavy heart, Dakereon Joyner leaves South Carolina and enters the NFL Draft.

Former South Carolina football player Dakereon Joyner stated on X (previously known as Twitter) on Wednesday that he was leaving Gamecock Nation and entering the 2024 NFL Draft.Joyner began his declaration by thanking God and then the coaches and supporters of USC.

In 10 games at the end of the season, he gained 120 net yards and five touchdowns on 50 carries.

In his NFL statement, Joyner said, “My journey here at the University of South Carolina didn’t go how I expected it to go, but it went how it was supposed to go.” “Thank you, God, for allowing me to grow through the hardships and become a better son, mentor, and versatile player!

“Some people assumed that I would stop playing ball, but I haven’t stopped yet.”

Joyner made one last trip toward the fans on Saturday night as the game clock approached zero. Making his way from the student section end zone down to the USC sideline, he shook hands with fans in the Cockpit and others standing there.

“I’ll have a hard time getting over guys like Dakereon and those guys that have given so much to this program, for them not to be able to finish on a higher note,” Beamer remarked on Saturday night.
