BREAKING NEWS: Florida State Are Suspended Due…..

Following a 0–2 start to the season, Florida State was eliminated from The Associated Press college football poll on Tuesday. This makes them just the third team to drop out of the top 10 preseason rankings to be unranked in the first regular-season poll since the rankings were extended to 25 in 1989.

After crushing then-No. 14 Clemson to open the season, Georgia held the top spot with 57 first-place votes. The Tigers managed to hold onto their No. 25 ranking, but this was their second consecutive year dropping at least ten spots following a season opening loss.

Ranking No. 2 with five votes for first place was Ohio State. Along with Georgia, three Southeastern Conference schools are now in the top four: No. 3 Texas, No. 4 Alabama, and No. That wasn’t done by the SEC in a non-pandemic season since September 22, 2001.

After winning its season opener against then-No. 20 Texas A&M, which dropped out of the rankings, No. 5 Notre Dame surged up two spots.

The biggest letdown in the early season has been Florida State. The defending champion of the Atlantic Coast Conference suffered a setback to ACC foe Georgia Tech in Dublin, Ireland, and then lost to Boston College at home on Monday night in another conference matchup. After winning its season opener against then-No. 20 Texas A&M, which dropped out of the rankings, No. 5 Notre Dame surged up two spots.
