Listed at 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, Smith has the prototypical size and speed that NFL teams look for in elite receivers. He was highly touted coming out of high school in Florida (top-ranked recruit in the 2024 class), and so far, he’s lived up to the hype.

Smith has performed very well in his two games this season, but at the same time, the Buckeyes haven’t exactly faced a tough opponent yet. In the school’s two matchups against unranked Western Michigan and Akron this year, Ohio State has won by a combined score of 108-6.

The Buckeye’s first big test of the season probably won’t take place until they head out on the road in Week 7 to take on an Oregon team that currently ranks No. 9 in the AP Top-25 poll.

If Smith continues to play at the same pace during the next few weeks and he also performs at a high level against Oregon, then his cousin’s recent prediction about him becoming the best wide receiver will gain credence.
