Breaking News : Travis Kelce’s Punishment After Losing Texas Tech-Cincinnati Bet to… See more

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have formed quite a friendship in their eight years together as Kansas City Chiefs teammates. These two have also led the Chiefs to no less than three Super Bowl titles, so you just know that the bond between them runs deep. Be that as it may, nothing gets in the way of Mahomes and Kelce’s loyalty to their respective schools — not even their friendship. This was exactly the case on Saturday when Mahomes’ Texas Tech Red Raiders took on Kelce’s Cincinnati Bearcats in what turned out to be quite a showdown.

In the end, it was Texas Tech who secured a hard-fought 44-41 win, which prompted a bit of friendly smack talk between the pair. As it turns out, the two actually had a wager going on as well. “[Kelce] and Mahomes, they have such a friendship and chemistry,” NFL on CBS commentator Jim Nantz revealed during the broadcast of the Chiefs’ 17-10 Week 4 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, via Jackson Thompson of Fox News. “They came in together to meet with us last night

“They were all excited about going back Saturday evening and watching their two alma maters square off, Texas Tech and Cincinnati, which ended up being an unbelievable game, won by Texas Tech, 44-41. The Bearcats missed a 50-yard field goal – last play the game. Of course, they had a little side wager.

Nantz went on to say that after losing the bet, Kelce will now have to wear a Texas Tech jersey and a Red Raiders mascot head in the next episode of his “New Heights” podcast with his brother Jason Kelce. Had Mahomes lost, Natz said that the reigning Super Bowl MVP would have arrived in the Chiefs’ next press conference wearing a Bearcats jersey and a mascot head

I’m pretty sure Mahomes is delighted with the fact that he won’t be subjected to the humiliation. As for Kelce, we will all just have to wait and see if he lives up to his promise when the next “New Heights” episode airs on Wednesday.
